Sorella McCune Italy Rome Mission 2024-2025

 Wednesday, March 25: blitz @the colosseum  Today was probably the most italian day of my life and I LOVED it. We started off strong with Sorella Gruwell's baked oatmeal that makes any day amazing (not italian but thought i'd throw that in there). We ate pizza for pday and tonight we headed to the center of Rome with our whole district to the blitz at the Colosseum!!! I'm obsessed with Roma 3. We said a prayer then all split up with Books of Mormon and talked to everyone! Not going to lie my comp & i had a rough time at first we were getting rejected right and left but we kept at it. Wednesday, March 19: ROMA 3 HEY! another great week in Rome complete! I'm still in love with the VC as much as ever and get so excited whenever we get to go haha.  This week was a little wild & so much fun. Here are some highlights:  -Monday we got a call from President Morris asking if us and the other Roma 3 sorelle could come help host a special event at the villa (the mission home) celebrating its 100th anniversary. Some of the people on the guest list included: the senator of Rome, Elder De Feo of the 70, and a Catholic priest. Well we took that as a great excuse to go on a shopping spree in downtown Rome last pday and put on our best outfits to welcome guests in, chat, take jackets, serve food, and hang out with the Morris' grandkids. ️ It was so fun and a super unique opportunity.  -On Saturday Monica came to the temple for a relief society activity with a bunch of other sisters from Pescara and it was sooo great to see them all. -Sunday night w...

Wednesday, March 11, 2025: Tom & Gayle Holdman!!! Ciao a tutti!!!  Soooo this week was amazing. Every day I spend on these temple grounds and at this visitors center changes me. The more I learn about the Savior's life, and the more amazing people I meet, the more I am just in awe at Heavenly Father's beautiful plan for each of us and how present His hand is in our everyday life. He is there! He knows us. He loves us. This week we had the very special opportunity to meet and spend time with Tom and Gayle Holdman, the creators of the beautiful stained glass window in the front room of the visitors center as well as of the stained glass on the temple and more than 180 other temples around the world. (!!!!) The stained glass in the visitors center is a piece called "Come Unto Me" and contains more than 120 symbols from the life, teachings, and ministry of Jesus Christ.  Wednesday, March 5: soooo i'm obsessed with the vc  I LOVE ROME! I LOVE THE VC! I LOVE MY SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST! My first week in Rome was actually a dream. I'm so full of gratitude to be serving here. The Visitors Center is chock-full of symbolism, stories, and things to learn. I think my favorite part of it all though is that it all points to Jesus Christ. My favorite room in the whole VC is the Christus room. Sorella Gruwell and I have been sitting in there for our companionship studies and practicing/reciting "The Living Christ" by memory and it's been so powerful. I know Christ lives!!  I love meeting all the people that come to the VC from all over. I've already met some of the coolest people and seen people I know!! (shoutout to Sister Wright<3) It's so cool seeing people's faces and reactions as they walk around the VC and learn more about the life of Jesus Christ and the temple.
