Sorella McCune Italy Rome Mission 2024-2025

 Wednesday, February 26, 2025: ROMA HEY!  not much time to write today but I've got some news....  WE'RE HEADED TO ROME!!! I've been given the opportunity to serve in the Rome, Italy temple visitor's center! It's been my dream to serve in the visitors center my whole mission and after 4 VC sorelle as companions (s/o to all of you ily you all so much), I guess President finally decided it was my turn. I'm so grateful and excited to serve in such a special place and learn more about Jesus Christ, His life, His disciples, and the temple.  I'm going to miss Pescara soooooo much but luckily I'll see most of them at the temple so the goodbyes have been a little easier. I am so grateful for all I learned in Pescara and the love I feel for the very special people here.  Alsoooo  My brother Spencer opened his mission call to Honduras this week!!  Wednesday, February 19: best day ever.' Saturday might just have been the most beautiful day of my whole mission.  They did it!! My best friends are baptized and confirmed members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!!! I wish I had words to describe the joy and spirit that was there. Everyone who came felt it. Everything went smoothly except the font overflowing (oops colpa nostra ) but better to have too much water than not enough right haha?  So many members and friends came, as well as 2 of Danilo's daughters and Monica's sister! Monica and Danilo felt loved and supported by their new ward family which was exactly what we hoped for. The Petrollini's, Salvatori's, and a few other members sang a song about knowing people in the preexistence and promising to come find them and help them along the covenant path and I don't think there was a dry eye in the whole chapel.  Wednesday, February 12: ONE YEAR We made it!!! A whole 12 months!!! What have I learned after one year of being a full-time representative of Jesus Christ?  I have increased my understanding of God's love.  "When we look at our lives and see a hundred things to do, we feel overwhelmed. When we see one thing- loving and serving God and His children, in a hundred different ways- then we can work on those things with joy... This is how we offer our whole souls- by sacrificing anything that's holding us back and consecrating the rest to the Lord and His purposes." -Dieter F. Uchtdorf The other day my mission president said "If you want to feel more joy in this work, increase your capacity to love."  God is love. Jesus Christ is love. Everything He did was out of love for His Father and love for us. As we do the same in our lives, we will feel more of His joy and increase in our capacity to serve His children. Wednesday, February 5: 🌲🌊 Heyo! Whats up gang. It was a hard week and also a great one... you know how it goes   But the good news is... next week is Danilo and Monica's baptism!! Today we hiked in the woods up to a castle!! The sun has been shining and that is a blessing in February!! We did an exchange with the sorelle in Terni and they both love to run so we ran to the beach with our matching hokas hehe. Also- we taught our friend Giusy the Restoration and a member and his wife (who doesn't come to church anymore) came to the lesson and bore beautiful testimony. It was so cool to see how the Spirit touched both our friend as she learned these truths for the first time and the member as she was reminded of them.
