Wednesday, 28 August, 2024 Ciao!  On Sunday Antonello surprised us by driving the hour and a half from his house in Ales to Oristano!! It's a huge sacrifice for him and so it meant so much. I'll never forget the moment he wheeled around the corner with the biggest smile on his face. There was a family from Germany visiting and it was so sweet to see their two sons bless and pass the sacrament for our tiny branch. It reminded me of my younger brothers and was like a little piece of home <3.  Sorella Taylor and Ania gave beautiful talks and I played "I am a child of God" on the piano.  Also Valeria (a less active member) came AGAIN for the 3rd time after 2 years!!! Another Sunday full of miracles.  On Tuesday Sorella Taylor hit ONE YEAR WAHOOOO! So grateful for that girl. We celebrated with YUM pizza (cooked by Andrea, our friend who's a pizza chef ) and one of our favorite families. Valentina and Carolina crack me UP.   Today for pday we wen...

Wednesday, August 21, 2024 Ciao a tutti:)  A couple people that made me happy this week...  Antonello- Says the sweetest prayers for us and our families and that we will have strength and not miss them too much. Always says "la NOSTRA chiesa" (OUR church) when he talks about the gospel.  Federico- Has learned how to receive personal revelation for himself and his life is about to change for the better.  Bonni and Aurora - the cutest mother/daughter duo who are so ready to receive the joy of the gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives. We went to visit them and cute 9 yr old Aurora pulled out her portable piano keyboard across our laps and showed me the songs she is learning. Then she wowed us on the violin too!! The Spirit was so incredibly strong as I testified how knowing my purpose in life has changed me and that they can have that too.  Random Giuseppe guy at English Course- dude pulls up in flip flops, long hair, and an aloha shirt and then chats ...

6 MONTHS IN ITALY

Wednesday, August 14, 2024 Hello my lovely people  I love being a missionary and a representative of Jesus Christ, might just be my favorite job ever. It is farrrrr from easy but that is exactly why I can look back on the past 6 months and say wow- I am a changed person. I am so grateful for this time and place and people and for the many lessons I have learned so far.  This week I cooked with an Italian!!! It was so fun. We went to our friend Valentina's house, her family is so cute and funny. I made these cream puff things with her while Sorella Taylor did her daughter's nails and then we had lasagna for dinner. (with her homemade ragù, it was to die for )  On saturday we drove to a tiny little town called Ales up in the foothills and I felt like I was in idaho again! We met with our friend Antonello who is so awesome. He got in an accident and is in a wheelchair and deals with a lot of pain but always testifies how he feels God's strength when he re...

Wednesday, August 7, 2024 On Thursday I said bye to my dear Catania, flew an hour across the Mediterranean sea and landed in the promised land. Met my newest favorite human on the planet- Sorella Taylor, took a one hour train ride into the countryside of Sardegna, and made it to my newest home- the itsy bitsy town of Oristano. I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS PLACE YOU GUYSSS where do I even start?!?!  First off with some facts about the incredibly unique place Sardegna is cause it's so fun to learn about this culture!  -There are 1 million people on the island... and 4 million sheep -Sardegna is one of the 7 blue zones in the world, people here live happier, healthier, and longer. There are people here who are like 110 years old WOAH   -Some things specific to Sardegna: worm cheese (treading lightly with this one lol), stand up paddleboarding is a huge competitive sport, sard rings/jewelry (stunning), things made out of cork because cork trees are everywhere...

We received transfer news this week and...I'M GOING TO THE ISLAND OF SARDEGNAAAAA  AHHHHH i can't even tell you guys how excited I am right now. I am going to this cute little town Oristano and I am already in love with it. It's just us and a senior couple in our area and it's going to be so different but I am so excited to switch from the little bit chaotic city life to small town vibes for a bit. Catania will always be my home- I became a missionary here and the people in Catania have changed me forever. And I am so excited to see what experiences the Lord has in store for me in Oristano!  This week flew by! Here's some quick highlights:  -Drove for the first time in Italy!! (Shoutout to Anziano Hartshorn for talking me through it and keeping me calm - it's pure chaos here haha)  -Sourdough waffles at the Hartshorns is the best. I am going to miss the Hartshorn's so bad   -Scambio with my dear Sorella Sandow! One quick miracle was when we said...
