6 MONTHS IN ITALY

Hello my lovely people 

I love being a missionary and a representative of Jesus Christ, might just be my favorite job ever. It is farrrrr from easy but that is exactly why I can look back on the past 6 months and say wow- I am a changed person. I am so grateful for this time and place and people and for the many lessons I have learned so far. 

This week I cooked with an Italian!!! It was so fun. We went to our friend Valentina's house, her family is so cute and funny. I made these cream puff things with her while Sorella Taylor did her daughter's nails and then we had lasagna for dinner. (with her homemade ragù, it was to die for🤤) 

On saturday we drove to a tiny little town called Ales up in the foothills and I felt like I was in idaho again! We met with our friend Antonello who is so awesome. He got in an accident and is in a wheelchair and deals with a lot of pain but always testifies how he feels God's strength when he reads the Book of Mormon! Also GET THIS. We taught the word of wisdom last time but this time he still ordered a coffee. Well we reminded him/Anziano Hanna talked a little bit with him and then he didn't touch the coffee the whole time. And then when the waitress came back he said "I forgot to tell you, I don't drink coffee anymore! You're going to have to make it with orzo for me from now on." LETS GOOOO he just dropped coffee right before our eyes! He's so awesome. Excited for that guy! 

We're basically going into trio mode for the next couple months because ANIA IS HOME!!! She is from Oristano and just got back from her mission in Scotland/Ireland and is one of the biggest spiritual giants I've ever met. She's been home for 2 weeks and is so eager to do missionary work haha you already know our member lessons are through the roof!!! She's so awesome AND she's coming to America for college!!! 🥳 

Our friend Federico is praying about baptism right now!! If you could add him to your prayers I know it will make a difference 🙏 grazie mille ILY ALL

SHE'S A RUNNER

  Hellooooo and happy summer everybody!    Things are starting to heat up down here in Sicilia, (quite literally-there was a huge fire the other day but tutto bene!) but me and my new companion, Sorella Wall, are ready to conquer the heat in our apartment with no AC!! hahaha we'll be fine... Also- SHE IS A RUNNER!!! Answer to prayers.  We've run every morning since being companions (down by the sea hehe) and my soul is slowly starting to heal.   Sorella Wall is a grinder of a runner and a grinder of a missionary! I don't think I've ever worked this hard in my life and also had this much fun while doing it! Saturday, February 17: SONO UNA MISSIONARIA?!?!

  Saturday, 17 February 2024 SORELLE E FRATELLI   First off- guys I love you. Thank you for being in my life, writing down your email, and going on this adventure with me!!!! I LOVE YOU ALL    Second off- some quick hitters: I finished my first week of missionary training online! My companion is from Germany!  Her name is Sorella Köcher. Still working on that pronunciation haha but she is AMAZING. Such a kind and genuine soul with an amazing testimony that is already so inspiring to me! She shares a love for Ikea and makes me laugh. I'm excited to learn and grow with her!  I am in a district with ALL Sorelle (Sisters). SO FUN. Slumber parties with 5 girls for 5 weeks? Sign me up  Haha I'll keep you guys updated on how it goes. More on them in a sec.  I absolutely love each of my 3 teachers!! 2 Sorelle e 1 Fratello. They all served in Italy and one of them is half Italian! Wednesday, October 16 Hello!!  Okay I've got 2 stories for you to show why I just love this place and these people and this work so stinking much.  Number 1! A couple weeks ago Sorella Riley found a lady named Stacey on Facebook! She is from Pennsylvania but married a man from Oristano and has lived here with her son for 7 years. She grew up going to young women activities and church with her friend who is a member and asked if we could bring her a new copy of the Book of Mormon because she lost hers. Say less!! We drove the 15 minutes into the countryside and looked for her gate on a street with no name haha, literally in the middle of nowhere. She welcomed us into her home/farm with open arms and made us feel so at home and appreciated! It was so cool seeing her animals that all just roam around her yard together, they're all so friendly!
