let's chat- I love Sardegna

On Thursday I said bye to my dear Catania, flew an hour across the Mediterranean sea and landed in the promised land. Met my newest favorite human on the planet- Sorella Taylor, took a one hour train ride into the countryside of Sardegna, and made it to my newest home- the itsy bitsy town of Oristano. I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS PLACE YOU GUYSSS where do I even start?!?! 
First off with some facts about the incredibly unique place Sardegna is cause it's so fun to learn about this culture! 
-There are 1 million people on the island... and 4 million sheep 🐑
-Sardegna is one of the 7 blue zones in the world, people here live happier, healthier, and longer. There are people here who are like 110 years old WOAH  
-Some things specific to Sardegna: worm cheese (treading lightly with this one lol), stand up paddleboarding is a huge competitive sport, sard rings/jewelry (stunning), things made out of cork because cork trees are everywhere, and the Sard language which is close to Spanish because the island used to be owned by Spain. 

The work here is insane. Completely different from Catania but I love it. We have a tiny branch of 3 people but on sunday had 23 people in church which is a huge miracle!! I played piano and they were all so happy because they haven't had a pianist in months. The Spirit in the room was so strong as all 23 of us sang 'I believe in Christ' loud and proud. A special moment I definitely won't forget. The closest missionaries to Sorella Taylor and I besides the senior couple (the Hanna's) are over an hour away which is crazy but I love it because we are just out here in our little town grinding away!! There hasn't been a baptism in 6 years but we have 2 people on date and sooo many people so close to being ready! There is so much potential here and I am just so excited to give my all to this place and this people. 

I love you all!! Look for the miracles in every day and I know you will find them!

SHE'S A RUNNER

  Hellooooo and happy summer everybody!    Things are starting to heat up down here in Sicilia, (quite literally-there was a huge fire the other day but tutto bene!) but me and my new companion, Sorella Wall, are ready to conquer the heat in our apartment with no AC!! hahaha we'll be fine... Also- SHE IS A RUNNER!!! Answer to prayers.  We've run every morning since being companions (down by the sea hehe) and my soul is slowly starting to heal.   Sorella Wall is a grinder of a runner and a grinder of a missionary! I don't think I've ever worked this hard in my life and also had this much fun while doing it! Saturday, February 17: SONO UNA MISSIONARIA?!?!

  Saturday, 17 February 2024 SORELLE E FRATELLI   First off- guys I love you. Thank you for being in my life, writing down your email, and going on this adventure with me!!!! I LOVE YOU ALL    Second off- some quick hitters: I finished my first week of missionary training online! My companion is from Germany!  Her name is Sorella Köcher. Still working on that pronunciation haha but she is AMAZING. Such a kind and genuine soul with an amazing testimony that is already so inspiring to me! She shares a love for Ikea and makes me laugh. I'm excited to learn and grow with her!  I am in a district with ALL Sorelle (Sisters). SO FUN. Slumber parties with 5 girls for 5 weeks? Sign me up  Haha I'll keep you guys updated on how it goes. Wednesday, October 16 Hello!!  Okay I've got 2 stories for you to show why I just love this place and these people and this work so stinking much.  Number 1! A couple weeks ago Sorella Riley found a lady named Stacey on Facebook! She is from Pennsylvania but married a man from Oristano and has lived here with her son for 7 years. She grew up going to young women activities and church with her friend who is a member and asked if we could bring her a new copy of the Book of Mormon because she lost hers. Say less!! We drove the 15 minutes into the countryside and looked for her gate on a street with no name haha, literally in the middle of nowhere. She welcomed us into her home/farm with open arms and made us feel so at home and appreciated! It was so cool seeing her animals that all just roam around her yard together, they're all so friendly!
