island hopping 🏝

 We received transfer news this week and...I'M GOING TO THE ISLAND OF SARDEGNAAAAA 

AHHHHH i can't even tell you guys how excited I am right now. I am going to this cute little town Oristano and I am already in love with it. It's just us and a senior couple in our area and it's going to be so different but I am so excited to switch from the little bit chaotic city life to small town vibes for a bit. Catania will always be my home- I became a missionary here and the people in Catania have changed me forever. And I am so excited to see what experiences the Lord has in store for me in Oristano! 

This week flew by! Here's some quick highlights: 
-Drove for the first time in Italy!! (Shoutout to Anziano Hartshorn for talking me through it and keeping me calm - it's pure chaos here haha) 
-Sourdough waffles at the Hartshorns is the best. I am going to miss the Hartshorn's so bad 🥲 
-Scambio with my dear Sorella Sandow! One quick miracle was when we said hi to a lady on a bench. She said "ah siete sorelle per la chiesa di gesù cristo dei santi degli ultimi giorni!" And we said uhh yes that's exactly who we are, who are you?!!! Turns out she is a less active member who couldn't come to church when it was 3 hours long because of work and she didn't know it switched to 2 hours haha. So now she's coming this week yay! God is leading us! 
-Met a man playing a guitar in the park. He's italian but has a British accent because he moved to the UK for 30 years. Now that he's retired he came back to sicilia and is living his best life making music. I love learning people's stories. And I love how willing the people in Catania are to share them, even with a random 19 year old on the street! There are so many incredible people in this world. My eyes have been so opened the past 5 months of my life. 
-One of our new members, Elisa, is 14 and is at the temple for her 3rd time right now! The ward youth group left at 7pm on a travel bus and drove 12 hours through the night to make it to the 9am session at the temple the next morning! Their commitment and joy and excitement to go to the temple inspires me! Elisa keeps sending us updates and pictures and it is so sweet. 
-Went on my last run in Catania this morning with my dear Sorella Wall🥲 forever grateful that Heavenly Father sent me her.

SHE'S A RUNNER

  Hellooooo and happy summer everybody!    Things are starting to heat up down here in Sicilia, (quite literally-there was a huge fire the other day but tutto bene!) but me and my new companion, Sorella Wall, are ready to conquer the heat in our apartment with no AC!! hahaha we'll be fine... Also- SHE IS A RUNNER!!! Answer to prayers.  We've run every morning since being companions (down by the sea hehe) and my soul is slowly starting to heal.   Sorella Wall is a grinder of a runner and a grinder of a missionary! I don't think I've ever worked this hard in my life and also had this much fun while doing it! Saturday, February 17: SONO UNA MISSIONARIA?!?!

  Saturday, 17 February 2024 SORELLE E FRATELLI   First off- guys I love you. Thank you for being in my life, writing down your email, and going on this adventure with me!!!! I LOVE YOU ALL    Second off- some quick hitters: I finished my first week of missionary training online! My companion is from Germany!  Her name is Sorella Köcher. Still working on that pronunciation haha but she is AMAZING. Such a kind and genuine soul with an amazing testimony that is already so inspiring to me! She shares a love for Ikea and makes me laugh. I'm excited to learn and grow with her!  I am in a district with ALL Sorelle (Sisters). SO FUN. Slumber parties with 5 girls for 5 weeks? Sign me up  Haha I'll keep you guys updated on how it goes. More on them in a sec.  I absolutely love each of my 3 teachers!! 2 Sorelle e 1 Fratello. They all served in Italy and one of them is half Italian! Wednesday, October 16 Hello!!  Okay I've got 2 stories for you to show why I just love this place and these people and this work so stinking much.  Number 1! A couple weeks ago Sorella Riley found a lady named Stacey on Facebook! She is from Pennsylvania but married a man from Oristano and has lived here with her son for 7 years. She grew up going to young women activities and church with her friend who is a member and asked if we could bring her a new copy of the Book of Mormon because she lost hers. Say less!! We drove the 15 minutes into the countryside and looked for her gate on a street with no name haha, literally in the middle of nowhere. She welcomed us into her home/farm with open arms and made us feel so at home and appreciated! It was so cool seeing her animals that all just roam around her yard together, they're all so friendly!
