 Wednesday, August 6: Catholic trek & the last hurrah🤠

 CIAO! 

we made it!!! 18 months serving God in the bank baby✅️ ...only a lifetime to go:) 

First of all s/o to y'all. You guys are the best for following along my whole mission! I love you guys🤟 I'll be home next wednesday and would love to see you at my homecoming talk on sunday, august 17th @1:30! 

Someone asked me this week what the biggest lesson/change I saw in myself was on the mission. A hard question to answer but after a year and 1/2, I'd have to say God has increased my capacity in so many things. My capacity to love. My capacity to feel joy. My capacity to have patience with others and God's plan for me. I could go on. Missions are simply the best and I loved every second. 10/10 recommend;) 

This week an estimated 1 MILLION youth from the catholic church traveled to Rome from all over the world for the Jubilee. The Pope spoke to them on Sunday at an event center about 20 minutes from our house so all of Saturday and Monday the street in front of our apartment was blocked off and filled with police and youth groups walking past decked out with flags, guitars, matching bandanas, etc. It was so fun to see them! It made finding in our area a little hard haha but we gave a Book of Mormon to one girl from Mexico! Super cool to see it cause it only happens once every 25 years. 
Also this week was FSY for italy and on sunday all of the youth in our ward got up and bore their testimonies. It was so touching to see each one of them choke up while they described the Spirit they felt there. 

I'm going to miss this place. Catania, Oristano, Pescara, & Rome. These places will always have a special place in my heart. Spending 6 months serving on temple grounds and feeling the Spirit there changed me. It's bittersweet closing this chapter of my life and I'm so grateful for the experiences, people, and places that God used to influence and shape me into the person He needs me to be. I know that God lives and that His Son Jesus Christ is our Savior. 

1 Nephi 13: 37 
And blessed are they who shall seek to bring forth my Zion at that day, for they shall have the gift and the power of the Holy Ghost; and if they endure unto the end they shall be lifted up at the last day, and shall be saved in the everlasting kingdom of the Lamb; and whoso shall publish peace, yea, tidings of great joy, how beautiful upon the mountains shall they be.

Wednesday, October 16 Hello!!  Okay I've got 2 stories for you to show why I just love this place and these people and this work so stinking much.  Number 1! A couple weeks ago Sorella Riley found a lady named Stacey on Facebook! She is from Pennsylvania but married a man from Oristano and has lived here with her son for 7 years. She grew up going to young women activities and church with her friend who is a member and asked if we could bring her a new copy of the Book of Mormon because she lost hers. Say less!! We drove the 15 minutes into the countryside and looked for her gate on a street with no name haha, literally in the middle of nowhere. She welcomed us into her home/farm with open arms and made us feel so at home and appreciated! It was so cool seeing her animals that all just roam around her yard together, they're all so friendly! 🎄☃️✨️ The holiday season ✨️☃️🎄

 Ohhhhh God is good.This week was stressful and humbling and found me on my knees 99% of the time and though it's hard, these have become some of my favorite weeks in the mission. President Nelson said it best: "The Savior is never closer to you than when you are facing or moving a mountain with faith." AMEN! I've seen this over and over again in my mission and saw it once again this week. Last week I recieved the assignment and opportunity to be an stl (sister training leader)! Adjusting has been a little overwhelming and also amazing at how the heavens have opened as I've turned to God in prayer and I've recieved revelation for my zone and the mission. All of the ZLs and STLs in the mission traveled to Rome for MLC (mission leadership conference) and it was so fun and powerful to be able to learn from so many amazing leaders and missionaries.
