Hello!!

Okay I've got 2 stories for you to show why I just love this place and these people and this work so stinking much.

Number 1! A couple weeks ago Sorella Riley found a lady named Stacey on Facebook! She is from Pennsylvania but married a man from Oristano and has lived here with her son for 7 years. She grew up going to young women activities and church with her friend who is a member and asked if we could bring her a new copy of the Book of Mormon because she lost hers. Say less!! We drove the 15 minutes into the countryside and looked for her gate on a street with no name haha, literally in the middle of nowhere. She welcomed us into her home/farm with open arms and made us feel so at home and appreciated! It was so cool seeing her animals that all just roam around her yard together, they're all so friendly! If I can remember correctly she has... 2 donkeys, 2 emus, 30 chickens, 6 cats, 1 dog, 3 goats, 1 sardegnian sheep (!!), 4 parakeets, 2 turtles, 8 roosters, and 2 peacocks! It was quite the place! As we sat with her and heard her life story she started talking about how fearful she has been lately. Wars, murders, political contention, robbers, etc. The world is a crazy place right now. This confirmed to me again my testimony that President Nelson IS a prophet who speaks for God. Just 1 week ago I listened to him address these crazy things in his hopeful message about preparing for the second coming of Jesus Christ! I love this quote from him:

"The best is yet to come, my dear brothers and sisters, because the Savior is coming again! The best is yet to come because the Lord is hastening His work. The best is yet to come as we fully turn our hearts and our lives to Jesus Christ."

Go listen to his talk if you haven't yet!! We invited Stacey to read it and left her with her Book of Mormon:)

Number 2! Living in a small town is just the best thing ever. The other night a 20 minute walk to the flower shop to pick up a bouquet for the senior couple turned into an hour when we ran into literally everyone we knew in Centro haha! We were walking past the Apple store when we saw two little girls' faces we recognized pressed up against the glass. It was Evelyn and Deanah, 2 girls of a family in our ward! We stepped in and got attacked by hugs from the little girls. Sweet 2-yr old Evelyn grabbed the Book of Mormon I was holding and sat down in the middle of the store and started flipping through the pages!🥹  So I sat down right with her and we looked at the pictures in the restoration pamphlet I had. We walked to Centro with them and were almost to the flower shop when we saw our friend Antonio sitting at his usual bar with his friends. He hopped up to shake our hands when around the corner on his bike comes Antonio's friend Pietro Paolo, who had come to church the day before and accepted a Book of Mormon! He said he needed help understanding the book so we set up an appointment to read together! When we finally got to the flower shop haha we chatted with the worker as she made our bouquet of fresh flowers, walking around her little shop looking for the perfect purple and pink flowers to add. When we finally got out the door we started sprinting because we were late to our dinner appointment when we saw Valentina and Carolina (2 of our other friends) and chatted with them for a bit:) I love these people and am so grateful for their goodness and kindness. They welcome us with open arms and have taught me so much about what it means to show Christlike love for others.

There's a little peek into life in Oristano for ya! God is good and His love is even greater.

I love you!
