Wednesday, November 6, 2024: Un Apostolo del Signore

HELLO!

i have so much to tell you guys i am so excited!!!

First of all- I moved! It was so sad to leave Oristano and Sorella Riley- that island has a special place in my heart forever. I flew to the mainland and took a bus from Rome alllll the way over to the Adriatic coast, to my new city Pescara! I love it here!! In Pescara you don't have to choose whether you like the beach or mountains better haha- they're both right there! We are a 10 minute run from the beach (already got that route down :)) and we also get to take the train through the mountains pretty often to visit friends or members in other towns in our area! Almost the whole city of Pescara got destroyed in world war two and so everything is super modern and nice, built pretty recently. My new companion Sorella Briscoe is so sweet and has a passion for Italian grammar that has already blessed me so much haha. Plus she is an amazing artist (painting finding!!), loves thrifting (first thing we did together on pday haha), is teaching me to cook better and is a super talented dancer!

Second- I met an apostle! Mission conference with Elder Stevenson was incredible. I will never forget the Spirit he brought and what impacted me even more than the words he said was the things he did and the way he acted. Exactly how the Savior would. He ministered one by one- shaking each of our hands and for the majority of his talk he walked among us in the audience and taught out of Preach My Gospel. One thing he said that I loved: "I have noticed that the Spirit most often comes into the room when a testimony is borne." Never underestimate the power of a testimony! The Spirit will touch and teach people's hearts in ways we never could with words.

Third- so many miracles. One is our new friends is named Linda from Nigeria. She was a referral and responded immediately so we set up a call the next day. She loves and believes in Jesus and is looking for peace and joy during a difficult time in her life. I don't know if I've ever met someone so elect and it is amazing to see miracles like this one as a result of prayer, following the Spirit, and our exact obedience.

Fourth- the members. I have been constantly amazed by the members here in Italy. Their commitment and love for the Lord inspires me so much. There is a hugeee ward here which is a big change from our tiny branch in Oristano (<3) but something so fun is we have a big group of young adults! We had a Halloween party with them and it was so fun. There is an American family here, the Felts. They inspire me. Two years ago the husband and wife received separate distinct promptings to move to Italy, and so they said goodbye to friends and family, sold their house, and moved ACROSS THE WORLD following the Spirit!!! I want to have that kind of courage and trust in the Lord. The impact they have had on the ward and the people here is so evident and Brother Felt (the ward mission leader) is sooo fired up about missionary work, it is the best!! They also have a 20 year old girl named Olivia who is so fun to hang out with!

A lil shoutout to my XC girls who won the state championship title this weekend at home -eagle island.🥹 There are so many lessons I learned through cross country and with those girls that have impacted me on my mission and I love you all sooooo much💜.

The more people I meet on my mission the more my wonder of God's love grows. There are so many people in this world from so many different countries, backgrounds, cultures, families, beliefs, perspectives and God knows every single one of them individually! He knows their hopes and fears and all the little things like their favorite gelato flavor. He loves them so much that He sends missionaries like me and prompts them to say and do things that He knows will touch their hearts. I'm just in awe of it all! God's love is infinite and perfect and divine. I am so humbled and grateful to be an instrument in God's hands to do His work and bring His love to the world- one person at a time.
