Wednesday, November 13:  Charity is transformative

I'm halfway done with my mission.
WHAT?!?!? πŸ˜πŸ•ΊπŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ’«πŸ€—πŸ’―πŸ₯³πŸ‘ŠπŸ™πŸ€ πŸ€© craziness.

Let's start off with one of my favorite quotes from President Nelson!

"The best is yet to come for those who spend their lives building up others."

Charity is the pure love of Christ. Charity defines a peacemaker. Charity is the answer to the contention in this world. It chases away pride- the source of that contention. And it allows us to stand as witnesses of God at all times- especially in tense situations! As we humble ourselves and pray to God with all the energy of our hearts, he will give us this gift! President Nelson has promised that as we seek for and demonstrate the gift of charity, "the Lord will magnify your efforts beyond your loftiest imagination." I invite everyone to ponder on how we can increase our charity <3

We had a HUGE miracle this week. Our friend Alessio accepted the commitment to be baptized on December 1st! Here's the kicker- when we went to put in his baptism date in the pmg app he was still in our UNCONTACTED referrals!! Huh??! Ok storytime- Thursday night we got a call from one of our members, Sorella Conforte. She told us that one year ago she met a woman while playing hymns on the piano in the Milano airport. Miraculously they were on the same flight and were sitting next to each other! Sorella Conforte felt prompted by the Spirit to teach the woman the plan of salvation during the flight, not knowing that she had just lost a close relative. Flash forward to now, over a year later, as God has been slowly preparing this family to receive the full message of the gospel. Sorella Conforte said that the family was ready to come to church and the woman's son, Alessio, wanted to take the lessons from the missionaries. Friday night we did a video call with Alessio and after teaching about covenants and our purpose as missionaries we read Mosiah 5:7-8:

7 And now, because of the covenant which ye have made ye shall be called the children of Christ, his sons, and his daughters; for behold, this day he hath spiritually begotten you; for ye say that your hearts are changed through faith on his name; therefore, ye are born of him and have become his sons and his daughters. 8 And under this head ye are made free, and there is no other head whereby ye can be made free. There is no other name given whereby salvation cometh; therefore, I would that ye should take upon you the name of Christ, all you that have entered into the covenant with God that ye should be obedient unto the end of your lives.

Later we asked Alessio his thoughts. He simply said "Vorrei battezarmi". (I want to be baptized.)
This man is so prepared. The elect exist you guys, and he is living proof. He said the closing prayer and me and Sorella Briscoe were both crying our eyes out, the Spirit was so present. We've done 2 more lessons since then and in every one he is so engaged and eager to learn and gain his own personal testimony, it's so fun teaching him. I feel so humbled and blessed to help Alessio prepare for his baptism and be a part of God's plan for him. YAY!!!

We got to go to Rome this week for zone conference and saw some of my fav people:) always so fun being together with other missionaries and feeling united- especially on temple grounds!

God is good! I love serving Him.
