Wednesday, June 5: sparkly shoes and a paintbrush
Wednesday, June 5
First off the best news of the week... THEY DROPPED THE FIRST 15 SONGS OF THE NEW HYMNBOOK LETS GOOOOOO
all of the Sorelle in my zone were blowing up the group chat hahaha BEST SURPRISE ALBUM RELEASE OF MY LIFE

hahah mission things.

Also
I complimented a lady on her shoes at church and she just GAVE them to
me??!? Then she apologized they were a little dirty and gave me a
PAINTBRUSH to clean them with?? So now I've got sparkly shoes 3 sizes
too small and a paintbrush. Nice. Hahaha ceciliani are so random. I love
them to death.
We went to a member's house this
week who is so brava. We chatted in the kitchen and discussed why bad
things happen to good people and God's plan. Then she squeezed the juice
out of 3 fresh grapefruit she grew herself and mixed it with frizzante
(basically sparkling water) to make the most delicious fresh drink of my
life

This
week was also zone conference! I always love getting to spend time with
everyone and President and Sorella Morris- there is such a strong
spirit and power in unity! Sorella Pike volunteered to do a role play
with the APs as a model "Lesson Zero" which is a new concept our mission
is applying for when we have our very first lessons with people. As
they started the role play the APs said "okay you're going to be
jessica" (for the sake of the roleplay) and Sorella Pike said "No, I'll
be Sue" (her actual name) and as they did the role play she used her
real story and everything from when she had her first lesson with the
missionaries when she was 17. The room was still and the Spirit was so
powerful. At one point she began to cry and the anziani asked her if she
was okay. She said that the APs asked her the exact same questions her
elders asked her. I felt so privileged to watch this sweet sorella, 4
years later, doing this lesson now in her mission language. Full circle
moment.
"While many
Christians view Christโs suffering as only a huge favor He did for us,
Latter-day Saints also recognize it as a huge investment He made in us.
As Moroni puts it, grace isnโt just about being saved. It is also about
becoming like the Savior." -Brad Wilcox (BYU speech "His Grace is
Sufficient")
God is so good. Jesus Christ is so
good. He loves us so so much that he didn't just save us. He saved us
AND gave us a way to become like Him. With Him by our side we can do all
things and become much more than we can on our own. I love Jesus.
Don't forget:
"The
joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and
everything to do with the focus of our lives." -President Nelson
I love you!
