Wednesday, June 18: La Città del Vaticano✝️   Hey!!  57 days till i get to hug y'all   (but who's counting:))  This week was pretty chill but here's some updates.  Second to last in-person district council! 11 chairs/transfers when did that happen??  We meet all kinds of people in the vc haha. This week's fun one was a guy with schizophrenia. He kept switching personalities and names on us lol, at one point he claimed to be the apostle Andrew... (but he didn't have a beard?? ) fun times!  Went to a member Aliyah's birthday party and ate bomb filipino food.  Tried...and failed... to learn the violin haha (thanks Sorella Seamons for trying)  Met our new friend Francesca!! She's young and is super excited to study the bom with us Got a brand new car!! (Goodbye to our fender flapping in the wind lol; me & that yaris have been through a lot together)  A family from California invited their taxi driver to come into the vc!! He...

Wednesday, June 11: a busy one

Wednesday, June 11: a busy one It was a BUSY week over here in italy! We started the week off with President and Sorella Morris' last zone conference Sometimes being an stl feels like being an event planner (planning food/activities/trainings/ travel etc for 70+ missionaries) haha but I honestly love it!  The senior couples made us homemade cafe rio (man i miss mexican food ), we played soccer at a field right next to the temple, and finished it all off with a water balloon fight. It was a blast and i got to see some of my favorite people. The next day was mlc which was also super inspiring and spirit-led.  Saturday we headed up to a town called Tivoli to do a blitz! We gave out a couple books of mormon, hyped up the vc and passed out fliers, and got gelato :) My companion and I were walking through a piazza when I saw a lady in a blue shirt sitting on a bench crocheting a scarf. The Spirit pretty directly told me to go talk to her and we met our new friend Gabriel...

Wednesday, June 4: GOD PROVIDES!

Image
Wednesday, June 4: GOD PROVIDES! Hey!  I get a lot of questions about what it's like to work in the visitors center! It's still my favorite thing ever and we see miracles and people change every single day.  However, sometimes it's hard in the vc because we often aren't able to see the "fruits of our labors", you could say, because 99% of the people we meet and teach live outside our area. With only 2-3 days in our area each week, our friends often progress slower and we have to rely on the Lord to take care of our little part of the vineyard on days we are gone. Last week after pday we prayed and picked a park to go to where we could find new people to teach. It was one of the only opportunities we had that week to find and we hadn't had much success that week so far but it was incredible to see how God provided. He placed 2 amazing women in our path who were so ready to hear the message we brought.  One was this cute girl named Joanna w...

Thursday, 29 May 2025: the pope's summer home?

Thursday, May 29, 2025:  the pope's summer home?   Hey hey hey! It's hard to believe it but we're headed into transfer 11! woah when did that happen?? I'll be staying here in the visitors center with my girl Sorella Fitzgerald yayy best news ever.  One of my favorite member meals of my whole mission was this week with the family of Andrea & Estefano. They are less active but came to the vc a couple weeks ago as their first step to come back to church. We watched the Because of Him video with them and Andrea really opened up to me about her story and I encouraged her that Christ was inviting her to come unto Him again. We went to dinner with them this week with the sorelle in their ward and it was sooo fun. They kept us laughing the whole time and I got them hooked on cocacola floats even though Andrea's cousin Lee was a little skeptical at first haha. I felt the Spirit and the love of God so strong in their home and I'm so glad to have met the...

Wednesday, May 21: mullberries & homemade pasta

Wednesday, May 21: mullberries & homemade pasta  HEY it's your favorite italian missionary back againnn  After 464 days I'm honestly impressed and love you for the fact that you're still following along on my mission journey haha. You're the best. This week's italian adventure took place in a little country town called Sabina, an hour out of Rome. We went to visit a member and when we pulled up to her little yellow cottage she handed us mason jars and told us to go pick mulberries off their two mulberry trees. It was so green and their 2 acres of property were beautiful. Then we came in and made fettuccine noodles by hand! Complete with a sauce al ragù it was perfect. The member, Sorella Guidara, told us that if she or another grandkid had a stomach ache, her grandma would always say "a plate of pasta solves everything" and would make them a plate of fettuccine al ragu. haha i love italians. Anyway, night of our lives making pasta...
