BUONA PASQUA!! Happy Easter!!
I love Easter in Italy. Crazy to think that my very first member meal in Italy was Easter dinner over a year ago!
I've been studying from the Bible along with each day of the Holy Week
and one of my favorites (so far hehe) was Palm Sunday and Christ's
triumphal entry into Jerusalem. I learned this week that an entry like
this wasn't unique to Jesus, it was actually a common ceremonial entry
at that time. Jewish kings were known to ride a donkey in times of
peace. Jesus used the customs of His day to teach people who He was as
The King of Kings and The Prince of Peace. I also learned that palm
branches symbolize victory, peace, and joy. President Nelson reminds us
to also remember the palms of Jesus' hands: "Behold, I have graven thee
upon the palms of my hands, thy walls are continually before me."
(Isaiah 49:16)

I've loved tieing in symbols of
Easter in the visitors center as we teach others about the hope and joy
we can find in the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for Him.
Sometimes I struggle accepting the love and grace that Christ offers me.
Why would someone as imperfect as me deserve so great a gift? As I
studied the story of Christ's triumphal entry I started to think about
Jesus' feelings riding in on that donkey. Imagine the love He felt for
those multitudes of people welcoming Him. I imagine he looked into each
of their faces as He reflected what was in front of Him. In 4 days He
would suffer and die for each of them. No wonder "all the city was
moved" when Christ entered. (Matthew 21:10) The greatest example of love
this world has ever known had just arrived. I invite each of you to
pray for, study, and accept Christ's love He feels for YOU. He loves you
just as much as He loved each of those people in Jerusalem. And He
loves me that much.
have a great Easter weekend everyone :)
